The Center for DNA-Guided Medicine was recently invited by Glastonbury High School to speak with students interested in pursuing careers in allied healthcare. Organized by the school’s Medical Club, this interactive session provided students with valuable insights into the fields of genetics, laboratory medicine, and biomedical research.

During the event, students engaged in an in-depth discussion with experts from the Center, learning about the latest advancements in DNA-guided medicine and its impact on patient care. Through a dynamic presentation, students explored various career pathways in healthcare, including Medicine, Genetics, Pharmacy, Biomedical Engineering, and Clinical Research.

The session also included a demonstration highlighting the real-world applications of DNA analysis in medical decision-making. Students had the opportunity to ask questions and gain firsthand knowledge from laboratory professionals who shared their experiences working in cutting-edge medical research and clinical settings.

A Glastonbury High School Medical Club board member reflected on the session’s impact:

"The opportunity for our students to hear directly from professionals in the field of laboratory medicine was truly inspiring. Understanding how DNA research translates to patient care helped them connect their classroom learning to real-world applications. Many of our students left this session motivated to explore careers in biomedical sciences and allied healthcare."

The Center for DNA-Guided Medicine remains committed to fostering educational experiences that bridge the gap between academic learning and professional healthcare careers. By partnering with local schools, the Center continues to empower students with the knowledge and inspiration needed to pursue careers in healthcare and medical research.
