The Center for DNA-Guided Medicine (CDGM) is proud to collaborate with Conard High School in West Hartford CT, to inspire students to pursue careers in Medicine, Pharmacy, Genetics and Biomedical Sciences. Recently, our clinical coordinator and laboratory staff conducted a hands-on DNA extraction demonstration for the school’s Medical Club, mentoring students and providing them with unique, real-world scientific experience.
Dr. Bonnie Mayer, AP Biology, Honors Biology
Conard High School
West Hartford, CT
Shared her appreciation, stating:
"For the past several years, The Center for DNA-Guided Medicine’s staff and in particular Mr. Mohan Kocherla has volunteered their time to come to Conard and speakto the Medical Club about their work with the Center for DNA Guided Medicine (CDGM)After-School Health Science Program. In his presentations, Mohan uses his amazing communication skills to show that he truly cares about the interests and futures of students who are interested in biomedical careers. The Medical Club has been lucky to
have the expertise of Mr. Kocherla, who travels to schools to provide motivation and opportunities for these students. It is important for High School students to be able to visualize future success in their lives and careers. Many of my former Conard students who have benefitted from attending the after-School Health Program are now on their way to achieving success in fields such as Medicine and Pharmacy."
At the Center for DNA-Guided Medicine, we believe in providing access to hands-on learning opportunities that empower students to visualize and achieve success. With parental support, we can expand this program and help more students gain the experience and skills needed to enter the medical and research fields.
